Offshore Passagemaking (ASA 108)A 10 day passage of 900 nautical miles from Ft. Lauderdale to the magical island of Bermuda, and then return.
Former students will receive a discount of $200.00. This price includes boat, instructor, provisions, running expenses, customs and immigration fees, tests and certification fees. Not included are alcoholic beverages, personal safety equipment, expenses incurred off the boat, sextant, tables and books. Due to the nature of this course there is no textbook. We will send you a reading list, some of which you probably already have. The cost of the two day Celestial Navigation includes textbook, exam and certification fees. Food and lodging are not provided. There are reasonable accommodations within walking distance of our facility. Lodging will be provided on the boat in Bermuda, but you will be responsible for meals during the Celestial Navigation clinic.
The captain/instructor will be Ted Wheeler, our head instructor, expert sailor, talented musician and easygoing shipmate. Capt Ted has extensive offshore experience, including four passages to Bermuda, numerous trips to or from the Caribbean and a Transatlantic crossing.
